Description Of Narrative Writing

When you are asked to write a story, you are doing what is called "Narrative Writing." Narrative writing is meant to entertain! Part of being human is getting to tell great stories! 

Often, the word narrative is synonymous with story.  A narrative is the story (fiction or non-fiction) told and the order in which it is told.   Sometimes, there is a narrator, a character or series of characters, who tell the story. Sometimes, as with most non-fiction,  the author himself/herself in the narrator.  Narrative writing is very important in your day-to-day life.  For the rest of your life,you will write texts, e-mails, cover letters, blogs, etc. about  your beliefs,  your ambitions, information you know, and feelings you have.  What could be more important? 

Narrative writing in fiction and non-fiction (and even poetry) tells others the stories of our personal experiences and allows us to gain empathy and sympathy about the world around us.

How To Differ From Other Writing Genres.

            The difference between Narrative with other genre or non-narrative is the two types of text is the organization. Narrative text unfolds as a story. In many stories, events are told out of order (for example, through flashbacks), but underneath the surface there is a plot in which events are tied together chronologically. In non-narrative texts, the structure might not be chronological. Instead, it can be organized in a number of ways, such as:

• cause and effect
• main idea and supporting details
• alphabetical order; e.g., dictionary or encyclopedia.

            The second major difference is that narratives have at least one lead character who has thoughts, feelings and experiences and who is intended to engage the reader.

            Narrative and non-narrative texts create very different reading experiences. Many theorists and researchers believe that narrative is the form of communication that comes to us most naturally: when we share our experiences with others, we usually do so as a narrative. As well, most of us will have heard or watched many narratives before we learn to read them on our own. The reader’s involvement with the character(s) also makes the experience of reading a narrative more personal. Some people find it harder to get engaged with non-narrative text because it lacks this human involvement. Others enjoy reading for facts and information rather than for feelings and experiences.

THE STEPS HOW TO MAKE A NARRATIVE WRITING

For make a narrative writing, you should  consist of the following structure:

v  Orientation

Introduction the participants and informing the time, place and the introduce some character.

EX : An Unforgettable experience in my live is about teaching practice for a competition or when the writer be the candidate for to be a  laboratourium language institute assistances on Muhammadiyah University of Metro on february 2th, 2014.  Maybe it’s all more for a failure experience, but there is a purpose behind this all that nobody know. At least within two months there are an failure that writer was forget, the 1st about grade score and the 2nd about assistance, but the writer not in buried condition or break a promise because the writer know and trush if Allah S.W.T knows what better for us.

v  Complication

Describing the rising crises that the participants have to do with or among participants relationship.

EX : This is a hard chalenge for the writer actually,but the writer mush practice to can be or accepted in laboratourium language institute as one of the assistance. The writer think if 15 minutes is the long time for a practice that doing in front of other assistance with a teaching technique, but all the chalenges have finished.

v  Resolution

Showing the way of participant to solve the crises, better or worse.

EX : Good or not the result the writer can accepted with humble because the writter trush if Allah S.W.T, knows and always gives what the better to Prophed Muhammad followers. And the writter said alhamdulillah to Allah S.W.T because ever doing teaching practice infront of other people for 15 minutes. The writer was third semesters, and trush if one day what’s the amazing day can we got from Allah S.W.T.

v  Coda

Summarizes the point of the story and moral message we may get.

EX : Good or not the result the writer can accepted with humble because the writter trush if Allah S.W.T, knows and always gives what the better to Prophed Muhammad followers.

The golden experience that I got from the failure experience is I'm do the teaching in front of other assistances for 15 minutes that unable thinking for before using english language without indonesian language. This is a hard chalenge for I actually,but I mush practice to can be or accepted in laboratourium language institute as one of the assistance. I think if 15 minutes is the long time for a practice that doing in front of other assistance with a teaching technique, but all the chalenges have finished. And when the that day is came the writer have felt an sensation of pounding. I ran goes to F buildings for saw the announcement on the labouratourium’s wall, but the good destiny is not with Me. That genesis maybe so far away from happy word, but I have gives the result to Allah S.W.T.

Good or not the result I can accepted with humble because I trush if Allah S.W.T, knows and always gives what the better to Prophed Muhammad followers. And I said alhamdulillah to Allah S.W.T because ever doing teaching practice infront of other people for 15 minutes. I was third semesters, and trush if one day what’s the amazing day can we got from Allah S.W.T.
