How the way
to create Adequate & Inadequate Cohesion paragraph ?
Inadequate Cohesion
In 1997, rice production fell 3.85 percent. Increased rice
imports, estimated to be 3.1 tons in 1998. achieved self-sufficiency in 1984, in
1985, we exported 371.3 thousand tons of rice, even 530.7 thousand tons in 1993.
in 1994, we come up short rice trade balance of 400 thousand tons. And increased
rice imports in 1997 reached 2.5 million tons.
The above paragraph suggests a main idea, namely the issue of the rise and fall of Indonesia's rice production. Thus the coherence of the sentence are met, but the paragraph is said not to have good cohesiveness that the elusive idea. The paragraph needs to be improved, for example by providing the following preposition.
Adequate Cohesion

percent. As a result, rice imports increased,
estimated to be 3.1

self-sufficiency achieved in 1984, in 1985, we
exported 371.3 thousand
tons of rice,
even 530.7 thousand
tons in 1993. However,
in 1994, we come

DIFFERENT BETWEEN
COHESION AND COHERENCE
Cohesion is a
harmonious relationship between the
elements of one with
the other elements
so as to create good meaning slick and coherent. If Coherence refers to the extent to
which the flow of ideas in a paragraph is easily understood by the reader.
Cohesion Example:
Electricity have many uses. My parents subscribed
electricity from PLN. One day,
electricity budget increase until 25%, so many people are complaining. As a
result, many electricity customers to make savings. The amount of equipment
that uses electrical current to increase. Tools that amount of power is AC or
air conditioner. On the Offices now use
the air conditioner was used alone, not a luxury.
Coherence Exampe:
I live with my parents, not live in
boardinghouse like My friends. At least 60% My friends who stay in
boardinghouse, They choose stay in boardinghouse because the home location with
campus location so far away. And it’s all is the reasons why I not lecture in
other university except Muhammadiyah University of Metro”.
NAGEN VILLAGE
Nagen

my friends from Boy Scouts association visit to that village. Based on
information tat we get, if that place have many good view enenthough that place
so dry. But its all our chalenge to get new experience.
The
trail to Nagen Village is hot and dusty. You can hike the trail or you can hire
a guide to take you on horseback. the trail you see only tree, dry earth, and
field like Savana on South Africa. It is very dry for this is progress country.
Not to much water on thr trail maybe can I mention there is no water. Nor is
there any shade. As you enter the village you pass by
several worst homes, with small size, wall with bamboo, and a roof with a black
straw, and some home also there are used dry palm leaf that arranged to be
neat.
But
although this village so var away from city, villagers in this village have
used electricity, based from one of villager say, if electricity have many
uses. Villagers subscribed electricity from PLN with governor service. but one day, electricity budget increase until
25%, so many people or villagers are complaining. As a result, many electricity
customers to make savings. However ,The amount of
equipment that uses electrical current to increase.
It
is a quiet place or village with free crowded. On the street, dogs are sleeping
in their doorway. Villagers just stand and smile watch me, yet they seem
friendly. In the centre of the village are a small villa or an lodging for the
night with a food stall, a sovenir shop, and post office. At the opposite, end
of the village, the trail leads to a cliff overlooking the canyon below. All of
those sceneries indicate that this village is waterless.
